Ukraine launched a second attack on a key bridge in the Kursk region to disrupt Moscow’s supply routes as the conflict entered its second week. At the same time, Russia claimed to have captured a village near the Ukrainian logistics hub of Pokrovsk, escalating tensions in east Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Air Force Commander announced the destruction of the bridge near Zvannoye, cutting off logistical capabilities for the enemy. This attack follows a previous strike on a bridge in Glushkovo, limiting Russia’s options to cross the river Seym.
Meanwhile, Russian forces advanced towards Pokrovsk, capturing Svyrydonivka, a frontline settlement crucial for Ukrainian supply routes. Ukrainian forces successfully thwarted a missile attack on Kyiv, marking the third ballistic missile strike on the capital in August.
Additionally, Ukrainian drones targeted an oil storage facility in Russia’s Rostov region, causing a large fire. These retaliatory strikes demonstrate Ukraine’s determination to defend its territory and disrupt Russian operations beyond its borders.
