Recently, the Taliban government in Afghanistan has announced strict measures for government employees who fail to attend the five congregational prayers at a mosque, known as Salat al-jama’ah. Despite previous orders mandating participation, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid emphasized the enforcement of Sharia law and associated punishments.
According to reports, employees who skip congregational prayers will face penalties starting with a warning, followed by potential transfer or demotion for repeated absences. If the employee continues to miss prayers, their salary will be deducted as a punitive measure.
During the interview marking the third anniversary of Taliban rule, Zabihullah Mujahid also discussed the financial challenges due to frozen assets of the central bank. Since seizing power, the Taliban has implemented various restrictions on women, including bans on higher education and recreational activities in parks.
These developments highlight the strict regulations under the Taliban government and their commitment to enforcing religious practices among government employees.
