Pyongyang Stands with Moscow in Defense of Sovereignty: Recap of Recent Events

In a recent statement, the North Korean Foreign Ministry condemned Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region, labeling it as a Western-backed act of terrorism. The ministry attributed the attack to the hostile policies of the US, warning of the escalating security situation that could lead to a potential World War III.

Highlighting the strong ties between Russia and North Korea, the statement emphasized mutual support between the two nations in safeguarding their sovereignty. The partnership, solidified with a comprehensive strategic agreement signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, includes a mutual defense pact.

Despite Western officials expressing support for Ukraine’s actions in Kursk Region, allegations of NATO and Western involvement in the planning of the incursion have surfaced. The Russian Defense Ministry reported significant losses for Ukrainian forces during the operation, indicating ongoing military engagements.

As tensions continue to rise, the alliance between Pyongyang and Moscow remains firm in their shared commitment to defend their respective sovereignties.
