Japan Donates Medical Equipment to Ministry of Health

A significant ceremony took place at Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Hospital where medical equipment procured through a Japanese grant was handed over to the Ministry of Health. The event, attended by Dr. Raed Al-Shboul and Ambassador OKUYAMA Jiro, marked a key milestone in Jordan’s fight against COVID-19.

Japan had pledged a generous grant of 400 million Japanese Yen to Jordan in July 2020, supporting the Ministry of Health’s initiatives to combat the pandemic and strengthen the healthcare system. The grant included essential medical equipment like digital radiography systems and CT scanners, benefiting 10 government hospitals across the country.

The collaboration between Jordan and Japan in the health sector demonstrates the strong historical ties between the two nations and their commitment to mutual cooperation. Dr. Al-Shaboul expressed gratitude for Japan’s support, emphasizing its positive impact on enhancing the health system.

Ambassador OKUYAMA Jiro highlighted the joint effort initiated by King Abdullah II and Japan’s former Prime Minister to combat COVID-19. The grant facilitated the distribution of crucial medical equipment to hospitals, aiding in Jordan’s fight against the virus.
