The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine condemns the forced displacement of Bedouin communities by Israel as ethnic cleansing.
The ministry expressed concern over the ongoing displacement in Masafer Yatta and the Jordan Valley, with the recent eviction of the last Palestinian Bedouin family from Umm al-Jimal. The attacks by Israeli settlers, backed by the military, are escalating the situation.
The US, UK, and France have sanctioned Israeli settlers for violence against Palestinians, but more action is needed. The UN Special Rapporteur urges intervention to stop the displacement of Palestinian populations by Israel and called for international presence on the ground.
Israeli forces and settlers have intensified their attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank since October. The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor described Israel’s forced displacement in Gaza as genocidal, affecting millions of people.
The international community must address these violations and protect the rights of Palestinians to prevent further tragedies and displacement.
