The health office in Taiz areas, under coalition control in southern Yemen, reported a significant number of cholera cases and deaths since the beginning of the year. According to Tayseer Al-Sama’i, the media official in the health office loyal to the coalition government, there have been 4,000 cases and 34 deaths due to the cholera epidemic.
Al-Sama’i also highlighted the neglect from the coalition-affiliated government in providing necessary treatments for the cholera outbreak in Taiz governorate. The ongoing economic collapse and lack of services in coalition-controlled areas have exacerbated the impact of epidemics like cholera.
