Troops deployed along entire Belarus-Ukraine border: Lukashenko

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has revealed that his country has deployed troops along the entire border with Ukraine, in response to alleged aggressive actions by Kyiv, including the deployment of 120,000 troops on the Ukrainian side.

Lukashenko, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressed concerns in an interview with Russian state television, citing the need to defend against any potential attack from Ukraine. He claimed that the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is heavily guarded and warned of significant losses for Ukrainian troops if they attempted to cross.

In light of the tense situation, Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin warned of a high probability of armed provocation from Ukraine. Despite previous support for Russia, Belarusian troops have yet to directly engage in combat within Ukraine.

This latest development underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and raises concerns about the potential for further escalation between Belarus and Ukraine.
