Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, honored the 90th birthday celebration of the Chairman, League of Imams in Ondo State, Alhaji Sheik Ahmad Aladesawe. The event, held at the Oba Sir Olateru Olagbegi Civic Center in Owo, was graced by Grand Chief Imams, Chief Imams, Islamic scholars, and eminent Nigerians.
Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, Governor Aiyedatiwa lauded Sheik Aladesawe as a “father figure” and praised his selfless service to the people of Ondo State and Nigeria. The governor commended the Islamic leader for upholding justice and supporting the state government.
Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Justice Adesuyi Olateru-Olagbegi, highlighted the exemplary character and dedication of the Grand Chief Imam. He acknowledged the efforts towards unity in the Owo kingdom, with Deputy Governor Adelami playing a significant role in the process.
Sheik Aladesawe, in addition to his role as the Grand Chief Imam of Owo, also serves as Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas in Ondo State, and Secretary General, League of Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States.
