23 Injured as Ferris Wheel Catches Fire at Music Festival in Germany
At least 23 people were injured when two gondolas of a Ferris wheel caught fire at a music festival near Leipzig in eastern Germany. The fire started in one gondola and then spread to a second one on Saturday night, resulting in burn injuries and injuries from a fall. First responders and police officers were also treated for possible smoke inhalation.
The incident occurred at the Highfield Festival at Stoermthaler Lake, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. Police have not yet provided detailed information on the condition of the injured individuals or confirmed the number of casualties. The operator of the Ferris Wheel mentioned that no passengers were in the gondola where the fire originated.
