Wang Yi urges for top-notch China-Cambodia partnership

China and Cambodia are strengthening their comprehensive strategic cooperation as Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi vows to deepen practical cooperation and enhance security ties with Cambodia. The two countries are working together to combat cross-border crime and Wang urged for more efforts in eradicating gambling and fraud.

Wang’s meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea emphasized the strong friendship between China and Cambodia, with China committing to regional peace and stability. They also discussed the success of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC), which has benefitted the people of six countries and promoted development in the region.

The LMC, launched in China in 2016, focuses on connectivity, production capacity, cross-border economic cooperation, water resources management, agriculture, and poverty reduction. China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam are part of this cooperation.

Overall, China and Cambodia are working towards high-quality development and cooperation to benefit both countries and the region as a whole. Their commitment to maintaining strong ties and promoting regional development underscores their shared vision for a better future.
