The Sindh Cabinet has approved Rs10.065 billion as grant-in-aid for the construction of 80-square-yard houses for 6,932 people whose homes were demolished along the Gujjar, Orangi and Mahmoodabad nullahs in Karachi. The provincial government allocated 258 acres in Taiser Town Scheme 45 for the affected residents.
Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned Rs200 million for the emergency rectification of Jamila Pumping Station, which serves the old city area and Lyari Town. The Cabinet also approved the establishment of the Sindh Electric Power Regulatory Authority and allotted land for a railway line and solar power parks.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of timely implementation of projects, including the rehabilitation of Hub Canal and the establishment of new power infrastructure. The Cabinet’s decisions aim to provide relief to residents and advance development initiatives in the region.
Furthermore, the Cabinet directed various departments to proceed with the approved plans and prioritize the efficient execution of proposed projects to benefit the community.
