Israeli Settlers Target Palestinians’ Lands in West Bank
Recently, Israeli settlers launched a series of attacks on the village of Jit in the occupied West Bank. According to the Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC), since the start of the war on Gaza, 273 fires have been deliberately set by the Israeli army and settlers targeting Palestinian lands and properties in the West Bank.
Moayyad Shaban, the head of CWRC, reported that these fires have ravaged areas in Nablus, Ramallah, and Jenin provinces. The most recent incident took place during a settler attack on Jit village, resulting in the death of one Palestinian.
Shaban condemned these attacks as acts of terrorism, aimed at intimidating Palestinians and causing significant social and economic losses. Of the 273 fires, 77 impacted agricultural lands, while 196 targeted residential properties and vehicles.
Amidst escalating violence in the region, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that Israeli forces and settlers have killed 594 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza since the start of the Gaza war.
As tensions continue to rise, it is crucial to address the ongoing violence and work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
