Tragedy Strikes in Gaza: 17 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Airstrike

An Israeli airstrike in central Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 17 Palestinians, the majority of whom were members of a single family. Among the victims were nine children and three women, according to health officials.

The strike targeted the Ajlah family home and warehouse in Al-Zawaida, claiming 15 lives. Witnesses recounted how the attack occurred shortly after midnight, destroying the house and leaving rescuers to retrieve bodies from the rubble.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported that the total death toll in the territory since October has now surpassed 40,000 Palestinians. The situation worsened as Israeli military issued evacuation instructions in Arabic for residents in central Gaza, citing militant activity as the reason for displacement.

The forced evacuation orders have affected around 170,000 displaced people, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor highlighted the ongoing mass forced displacement campaign, which has traumatized millions in the Gaza Strip.
