Irfan Siddiqui: PML-N to stop talks with PTI unless serious

Published by

PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui stated that his party would no longer initiate talks with the PTI, emphasizing that the PTI needed to approach them with seriousness. The tension between the PTI and the PML-N has escalated since Imran Khan’s removal in 2022.

The PML-N has offered dialogue multiple times, but the PTI demands the return of its “stolen mandate” and has preferred discussions with the military. However, the PTI has recently shown openness to negotiation with the opposition parties if their demands are met.

On a Dawn News program, Senator Siddiqui mentioned that the PML-N might consider talks if the PTI approached them earnestly. He stressed the importance of dialogue among politicians rather than with the army.

Senator Siddiqui also discussed the PTI’s actions, including protests and international resolutions, suggesting a possible ban on the party. He spoke about the arrest and probe against Gen Faiz Hameed, highlighting the significance of the investigation.

Gen Faiz probe

Regarding the court martial proceedings against Gen Faiz, Senator Siddiqui emphasized the national importance of the case and potential connections to past incidents.
