In Iran, the footwear industry continues to thrive as production units have manufactured an impressive 270 million pairs of shoes, ranging from casual to specialized footwear. With 12,000 active industrial units and 50,000 distribution networks, the sector is a significant contributor to the economy.
Interestingly, 95% of these production units are small enterprises with fewer than 50 workers each, showcasing the importance of grassroots businesses in the industry. Ali Lashgari, a member of the Footwear Industry Association, believes that with appropriate government support, Iran’s shoe production capacity could rise to become the 8th largest in the world.
With such potential, the Iranian footwear industry represents a promising opportunity for growth and development. By leveraging its existing capabilities and fostering innovation, the country can establish itself as a global player in the footwear market.
