Indiana Jones’s iconic hat sells for £490k at auction

Auctioned Indiana Jones Hat Worn by Harrison Ford Sells for Nearly Half a Million

The iconic hat worn by actor Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones film franchise’s second instalment, Temple of Doom, has fetched a whopping $630,000 (£487,000) at auction in Los Angeles. The brown felt fedora, specifically made for the movie, saw enthusiastic bidding along with props from other blockbuster franchises like Star Wars, Harry Potter, and James Bond.

Ford’s character, Indiana Jones, is famously seen donning the hat in a memorable scene where he and his companions make a daring escape from a crashing plane. Interestingly, the hat was also worn by Ford’s stunt double, Dean Ferrandini, with previously unpublished photos from the set included in the sale.

Other items that drew significant bids included an imperial scout trooper helmet from Star Wars and Daniel Radcliffe’s light-up wand from Harry Potter. The auction house, Propstore, expressed pride in connecting fans with these historic pieces they cherish. The Indiana Jones hat’s sale price even surpassed that of a similar fedora auctioned in 2021, highlighting its enduring appeal among collectors and fans.
