A father from east Jerusalem was indicted for kidnapping his children from his estranged wife and hiding them in the Shuafat refugee camp. Charges were also brought against two accomplices, Amal Karakesh Adkidak and her son Riyad. The father, in the midst of a divorce, defied a court order to keep the children with their mother and enlisted the help of the accomplices to conceal them.
Abduction Plans
The father handed over the children to his accomplices for an indefinite period. Police rescued the children after a week, during which one officer was injured due to stone throwing. The father faces charges including kidnapping, providing false information, and obstructing justice. The accomplices are charged with kidnapping and hiding the children.
The prosecution has requested their detention until the legal proceedings conclude.
