Lahore: PTI Leader’s Son Confesses to Father’s Murder
Muhammad Qayyum, the son of PTI leader Dr. Shahid Siddique, has admitted to masterminding his father’s assassination. The shooter responsible for Dr. Siddique’s death has been captured, according to DIG Imran Kishwar. Investigations revealed that Qayyum, along with other accomplices, orchestrated the plot to kill his father.
Qayyum confessed to hiring the assassins over a personal dispute, reaching a deal of Rs40 million for the murder. All involved individuals, including the shooters, have been arrested, with the murder weapon recovered.
The tragic incident occurred on August 2 in Lahore, Punjab, shaking the community. Qayyum’s motive allegedly stemmed from a disagreement over his marriage choice, as his father opposed his selection.
After an unsuccessful attempt in January, Qayyum arranged for a second attack on his father for 2 crore rupees. Surveillance footage shows Qayyum following his father’s car on the day of the incident, despite later feigning innocence.
Despite pretending to seek justice at his father’s funeral, Qayyum’s guilt has been exposed, showcasing a shocking betrayal within the political leader’s own family.
