Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced the formation of a joint winter action plan to address increasing air pollution in the capital city. The plan, focusing on critical areas like vehicular emissions, dust pollution, stubble burning, and waste disposal, aims to enhance monitoring technology through initiatives like the Green War Room and Green Delhi app. Collaborating with central and neighboring state governments, the Delhi administration seeks to create a comprehensive strategy for reducing pollution during the winter months.
Scheduled for September 5, a meeting will involve discussions with 33 relevant departments to draft the winter action plan. Rai emphasized the importance of involving various agencies like the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Traffic Police, and Delhi Pollution Control Board to implement measures effectively. By addressing key issues and promoting public participation, the plan strives to improve air quality and combat pollution challenges in Delhi.
