China’s State Council and the Central Military Commission have issued revised regulations on subsidies and benefits for military service members, effective October 1.
The revisions aim to ensure that military personnel receive the entitled subsidies and benefits, inspiring them to dedicate efforts in defending and building the country, and further modernize China’s national defense and armed forces.
The regulations emphasize that preferential treatment should align with contributions, with dynamic adjustments to subsidy and benefit standards based on socio-economic development and national defense strengthening efforts.
They detail the scope and specifics of subsidies and benefits, management responsibilities of departments, and financial obligations of central and local authorities. Measures to streamline and optimize subsidy provision procedures are also outlined.
This is the third revision of regulations on subsidies and benefits for military service members since 2004.
