Kateryna, Denys, and Oleksander, along with 42 other Ukrainian children, are enjoying a three-week escape from the bombings near the Russian border. Antonio Funes created the A Breath of Hope program to bring smiles back to these children’s faces who have suffered due to the conflict in Ukraine. This initiative, funded through crowdfunding, provides these children with a unique opportunity to experience joy and solidarity in Spain.
The children are accompanied by chaperones from Ukraine and volunteers from Spain, exploring the picturesque Andalusia region. From swimming in pools to visiting natural parks, these kids are experiencing moments of happiness that war has deprived them of. The local governments of Jaén and Orcera have opened their arms to welcome these children and ensure their safety and well-being during their stay.
This heartwarming initiative is a beacon of hope in the midst of turmoil, demonstrating the power of compassion and unity in bringing smiles to the faces of children affected by conflict. The program organizer, Antonio Funes, is already planning his next project to further support the children in need.
