Recent events in Faisalabad have shocked the nation as the police have successfully rescued a Sikh woman and her minor son from illegal confinement. The woman, identified as ‘MK’ had been held against her will for the past nine months by two brothers in their house in D-Type Colony. During this time, she was also subjected to repeated rape and torture by the suspects.
The incident came to light when Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, along with Faisalabad City Police Officer Kamran Adil, addressed the media at a press conference. The woman had initially asked one of the suspects to drop her son at her sister’s house, but instead, they held the child hostage as a means of blackmail.
Thanks to the prompt action taken by the police, led by SSP Abdul Wahab, the woman and her son were rescued on August 14. Minister Arora commended the efforts of law enforcement and emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting minority rights. He also highlighted the importance of media support in such cases.
