Peru’s national production experienced a 2.49% increase in the first half of 2024, with June alone contributing a 0.21% rise according to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
Despite overall positive results, June faced slight setbacks due to a national holiday resulting in one less business day compared to the previous year.
The fishing sector played a major role in June’s growth, with a significant 56.77% increase driven by the harvesting of marine species for human consumption.
Other sectors like transportation, storage, messaging, accommodation, and restaurants also saw notable gains, further contributing to Peru’s economic rise.
However, mining, construction, and agriculture sectors experienced declines in June.
This data highlights Peru’s economic diversity and resilience, showcasing the impact of external factors like holidays on economic activity.
The strong performance in various sectors indicates potential for future stability and growth in the Peruvian economy.
