Maduro’s reelection in 2018 was widely considered fraudulent, leading to ongoing political instability and economic collapse in Venezuela.
The statement emphasizes the need for dialogue and understanding to restore peace, public security, and political stability in Venezuela, as highlighted by reports from the UN Human Rights Council. Morocco’s foreign minister, Nasser Bourita, attended the inauguration of the Dominican Republic’s President Luis Abinader as a show of solidarity.
