The Punjab Government to Partially Suspend Mobile Services for Chehlum
The Punjab government has announced the partial suspension of mobile services in 10 districts on the occasion of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) to maintain law and order. The suspension will be in effect from 5 AM to 11 PM at locations where mourning processions are taking place.
The affected districts include Rawalpindi, Jhang, Layyah, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Chakwal, and Toba Tek Singh. However, mobile services will remain operational in Lahore and other districts of Punjab.
Chehlum observance, which marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala, occurs 40 days after Ashura. The decision was made with the safety of citizens in mind to ensure a peaceful and secure environment during the religious event.
