The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) spokesman, Daniel Hagari, announced that over 17,000 terrorist operatives have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war. He emphasized the IDF’s successful fighting strategies which have significantly impacted Hamas’ ability to regroup.
Addressing recent claims by Hamas regarding hostages, Hagari dismissed them as manipulative messages aimed at instilling fear. Negotiations for a cease-fire in Gaza began in Qatar today, with no Hamas representatives present.
Despite Hamas’ absence, representatives from Israel, as well as mediators from the USA, Egypt, and Qatar, convened in Doha. Reuters reported that Qatar would convey Hamas’ position during the talks.
Hamas’ refusal to attend was attributed to their insistence on the implementation of previous agreements before engaging in further peace negotiations. These talks are crucial as they could impact Iran’s decision on whether to attack Israel, as reported by global media.
The ongoing negotiations highlight the complexities and stakes involved in the conflict in the Middle East.
