“Shekar Home” attempts to bring an Indian twist to the classic Sherlock Holmes story, set in West Bengal in the ’90s. The introduction of a mysterious villain ‘M’ fails to add the necessary thrill, and the supporting cast is underutilized.
The show may appeal to viewers unfamiliar with the original Sherlock Holmes, but for fans of the iconic detective, “Shekar Home” may be a disappointment. The promise of a second season might require a reevaluation of the series to capture the essence of the classic character.
