Last Updated:

BJP president JP Nadda informed allies about the importance of an informal NDA meeting due to the lack of an official gathering during the last session of Parliament.

A meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders took place at the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party president JP Nadda Friday afternoon.

Various BJP-led coalition members attended the meeting with Nadda on short notice.

Important issues regarding the alliance’s role in the current government were discussed as the BJP did not secure an absolute majority in the recent Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing the significance of alliance partners.

Nadda stressed the need for better coordination and cooperation among allies, highlighting the importance of unity within the government.

Discussions also focused on the performance of parties in the northeast states during the elections and ensuring smaller parties have a platform to voice their opinions.

Partners were informed about the absence of representatives from Shiv Sena and NCP due to upcoming elections in Maharashtra.

It was decided to have regular meetings among NDA partners to strengthen camaraderie.

The BJP secured 240 Lok Sabha seats in the recent elections out of the NDA’s total of 292, with other key members like TDP and JD(U) contributing to the alliance.
