Falklands Oil Development: Consultation Update on Sea Lion Offshore Field
A total of 25 presentations on the revised EIS have been received by the Falklands government and shared with Navitas
Navitas Petroleum Development and Production Ltd issued a revised Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the drilling of oil wells and offshore production from the Sea Lion Field Northern Development Area, Phase 1 and 2 on July 2, 2024.
The Falkland Islands Government opened a public consultation on the revised EIS from July 2 to August 13, 2024. A total of 25 representations were received from individuals, businesses, and organizations.
These representations will be reviewed by Navitas, followed by a response to the Falkland Islands Government. Potential revisions to the EIS will be presented to ExCo before making the submissions and responses public.
The Department of Mineral Resources appreciates the active participation from the public and organizations in the EIS process.
