China has emphasized the legitimacy of its military patrols near Huangyan Island in the South China Sea as operations to protect its rights, respond to contingencies, and maintain regional stability. The island is an integral part of China’s territory, and the region should be a shared space for countries, not a playground for external powers, according to Zhang Xiaogang, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense.

Zhang criticized the Philippines for collaborating with non-regional countries to disrupt peace and stability, while also accusing the United States and other external powers of inciting trouble. China has vowed to take strong measures against any actions that violate its sovereignty and regional stability.

With tensions rising in the region, China remains committed to safeguarding its interests and maintaining peace in the South China Sea.
