Last night, a man in his 50s, believed to be an army chaplain, was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times at Renmore Barracks in Galway. The incident led to the arrest of a teenage boy, who was restrained by members of the Defence Forces before being taken into custody by gardaí.
The wounded chaplain was rushed to University Hospital Galway for treatment, where he is currently awaiting surgery. Fortunately, his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
