Argos Georgia: bodies of six Galician mariners expected Monday in Spain
The inquests for the six crew members of the FV Argos Georgia took place in the Falkland Islands this week. The purpose of the inquiry, led by Coroner Malcolm Simmons, was to determine the details surrounding the tragic deaths of the crew members.
The six deceased mariners have been identified as Santiago Leyenda Amoedo, Luis Junior Aviles Calle, Geraldo Rodriguez Aspajo, Cesar Augusto Paredes Aspajo, Antonio Barreiro Torea, and Cesar Acevedo Duran. Three crew members are yet to be identified.
The bodies of the three Galician crew members are expected in La Coruña, Spain, on Monday. The arrival will be followed by a possible ceremony to honor the sailors who lost their lives. The UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch is conducting an investigation into the incident.
