The Ukrainian Finance Ministry has received nearly $99 billion in budget support from international partners since the start of the full-scale war. According to the ministry’s press service, direct budget support from donor countries and international financial organizations has reached approximately $98.7 billion since February 24, 2022. These funds have been utilized to cover social, humanitarian, and other essential non-military expenditures in the state budget, including pensions, social benefits, and salaries for key personnel like doctors, teachers, and civil servants.
The World Bank stands out as the largest donor, providing nearly $40 billion through its mechanisms, with significant contributions also coming from the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The European Union contributed $38 billion in total budget support, while the International Monetary Fund provided $10.2 billion, and the Canadian government contributed over $5 billion.
This substantial financial aid is crucial in helping Ukraine cope with the repercussions of the conflict and maintain stability within the country. The ongoing support from these international partners highlights the solidarity and cooperation in facing challenges and rebuilding a nation in need.
