Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan recently met with Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov in Ankara to discuss enhancing economic cooperation through new agreements. The ministers explored ways to deepen economic ties and increase the trade volume target of $5 billion. They also evaluated cooperation opportunities regarding the transmission of Turkmen natural gas to Turkish and European markets.

Additionally, Fidan and Meredov exchanged views on the current situations in Gaza and Ukraine. Meredov, who is also the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, is on a two-day visit to Turkey. Prior to this, he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

These high-level discussions highlight Turkey’s ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships with Central Asian nations. As both countries seek to bolster their economic cooperation and explore new opportunities, this meeting signifies a step towards enhancing mutual growth and prosperity.
