Israeli Universities Shine in Global Rankings
Israel’s academic institutions continue to excel in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking, with three universities securing a spot in the top 100 globally. The Weizmann Institute of Science, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Technion all made impressive strides in the rankings.
The Weizmann Institute led the pack, securing the 69th spot, closely followed by the Hebrew University climbing to the 81st position. The Technion, known for its technological prowess, landed at 85th place and was also ranked 11th among the top technological universities worldwide.
The Shanghai Ranking, which evaluates over 2,500 universities worldwide, considers various criteria such as the number of Nobel laureates, research publications, and academic achievements. Despite challenges, Israeli universities have shown resilience and commitment to meeting the ranking criteria.
Harvard topped the list, with 38 US institutions in the top 100. The presence of Israeli universities among the global elite is a testament to their academic excellence and innovation, according to university presidents.
