Armenian businesses affected by the May 26 floods in Lori and Tavush provinces will receive approximately 300 million drams in aid from the government. The Cabinet approved the aid package on August 15, with the Ministry of Economy managing the distribution process. Affected businesses need to apply for assistance by emailing secretariat@mineconomy.am between August 25 and October 15.
The amount of support for each business will be determined based on factors like property size, level of damage, and taxes paid in 2023. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of taxes, stating that they enable the government to provide support during crisis situations. He highlighted the role of taxes in funding relief efforts, reminding citizens that paying taxes contributes to a collective safety net for emergencies.
