Syria has refuted US claims that American citizen Austin Tice is in their custody, labeling them as baseless and a deliberate distortion of the truth. The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry released a statement denouncing the accusations made by the White House, stating that Tice, a former US Marine, was portrayed as a journalist who entered Syrian territory and went missing. The ministry declared these claims to be false and part of a pattern of false allegations against Syria by the American government.
The statement highlighted the aggressive actions taken by the US against Syria, including violating territorial sovereignty, supporting separatist militias and terrorist groups, exploiting Syrian resources, and imposing unilateral coercive measures that harm the Syrian population. These accusations against Tice and other Americans were deemed unfounded and part of a broader anti-Syria agenda pursued by the US government.
Syria’s response reflects its commitment to truth and rejection of false narratives propagated by foreign powers.
