Former Minister of Defense of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, is set to be released from detention after a court decided to change his measure of restraint. Tonoyan’s lawyer, Albert Benglyan, confirmed that bail of 15 million drams has been set for his release.

“We are currently arranging the payment of the bail. If everything goes smoothly, Tonoyan will be released today; otherwise, it will be tomorrow,” Benglyan mentioned in an interview.

David Tonoyan is facing charges related to misconduct in the procurement of ammunition. The case also involves David Galstyan, the head of the weapons supply company, and Stepan Galstyan, the former Deputy Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff.
