US Approves $20 Billion Military Aid Sale to Israel Amid Gaza War
The United States has approved a massive $20 billion sale of fighter jets and military equipment to Israel, despite concerns over war crimes being committed in the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The sale includes F-15 jets, tank cartridges, explosive mortar cartridges, and army vehicles.
Although deliveries of the Boeing Co F-15 fighter jets are not expected to begin until 2029, other equipment will start being delivered in 2026. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant expressed gratitude for the US commitment to Israel’s security and maintaining its military edge in the region.
The Gaza conflict, which began in October, has resulted in devastating consequences for the region, with heavy civilian casualties and displacements. President Joe Biden has proposed a three-phase ceasefire plan, but efforts to implement it have been unsuccessful.
Despite mounting criticism, Washington continues to support Israel with military aid, including thousands of highly destructive bombs and missiles. The sale reaffirms the strong alliance between the US and Israel, emphasizing the importance of security and self-defense capabilities.
