The North’s Development Over 80 Years

Report Reveals Devastating Impact of Conflict on Northern Israel

A recent report from the National Information Center in the Prime Minister’s Office highlights the widespread destruction in northern Israel, with 44 dead, 271 injured, and tens of thousands displaced. The government’s delay in addressing the Hezbollah threat has resulted in billions of dollars in damages to agriculture and tourism, along with thousands of acres scorched by fires.

Since Hezbollah allied with Hamas on October 8, over 7,500 rockets and 200 UAVs have targeted Israel, escalating violence on the Lebanon border. The impact on civilians is severe, with 24 Israelis and one Indian killed, and over 62,000 people evacuated. Damage claims total over 4,000, with areas like the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee bearing the brunt of destruction.

The economic toll is immense, with $309 million lost in tourism income and $269 million in agriculture losses. Olive, fruit, and egg industries face significant setbacks, impacting national production. The situation remains dire, with no clear end in sight to the conflict’s devastating effects on northern communities.
