Pakistan Celebrates 77th Independence Day
Pakistan marked its 77th Independence Day with a pledge from its leaders, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to bring economic stability to the country. Speaking at a flag-hoisting ceremony in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz vowed to reduce inflation, electricity prices, and revamp the economy.
The premier stressed the importance of hard work, honesty, and passion in setting the country on a path of development and prosperity. He also addressed the issue of digital terrorism, urging the youth to avoid becoming prey to misinformation.
President Zardari called for unity, integrity, and economic stability, emphasizing the need to uphold the rule of law and strengthen democratic institutions. Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted the theme of ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ (resolve for stability).
Celebrations across the nation included flag-hoisting ceremonies, prayers for peace and prosperity, and tributes to freedom fighters and unsung heroes. The armed forces also paid tribute to the founding fathers and veterans for their sacrifices in the pursuit of freedom.
