A top official in the Palestinian Resistance has said in an interview with the Lebanese news network Al-Mayadeen that Hamas “will not participate in the Doha meetings on Thursday.”

Speaking to Al-Mayadeen, Ahmed Abdel Hadi said that Hamas “rejects the start of negotiations without relying on the last proposal presented on July 2,” due to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new conditions. Abdel Hadi emphasized that Hamas will not engage in negotiations that provide cover for Netanyahu’s extremist government.

‘Intent to Escalate’

Abdel Hadi believes that recent events show Netanyahu’s intent to escalate aggression on Gaza. He reiterated that Hamas is willing to engage if there is a full commitment to the previous proposal.

‘Netanyahu is Deceptive’

Maher al-Taher of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine echoed similar sentiments, stating that negotiations could lead to more massacres. Hamas has stressed the need for specific guarantees before considering participation.

Tripartite Statement

Negotiations in Doha are scheduled amid escalating tensions. Hamas insists on implementing the agreement from July 2 rather than engaging in new negotiations due to Israeli actions and ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Ongoing Genocide

The brutal offensive in Gaza has resulted in a high number of casualties, with Palestinians continuing to suffer from Israeli aggression and displacement.

The situation remains dire as the international community watches the ongoing conflict unfold with grave concern.
