Hamas Political Bureau member Osama Hamdan stated that the United States is no longer viewed as a trustworthy mediator capable of achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

“We have informed the mediators that any meeting should focus on implementation mechanisms and deadlines, rather than introducing new negotiations. Otherwise, Hamas sees no reason to participate.” – Hamdan

Hamas refuses to engage in ceasefire negotiations unless discussing President Biden’s existing peace deal with Israel without new additions.
Hamas, rejecting recent talks, plans to not partake in upcoming ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip. Egypt, Qatar, and the US have urged talks, but Hamas remains skeptical.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed his visit to the region due to uncertainties and potential Iranian threats against Israel.
