Germany seeks arrest of Ukrainian national in Nord Stream sabotage | Global

Germany has requested Poland to detain a Ukrainian diving instructor allegedly involved in the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion in 2022. The sabotage, attributed to Ukrainians, occurred after Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, rupturing the gas flow between Russia and Germany.

Investigations have led to three Ukrainian suspects, including a woman, believed to have placed explosives underwater. The attack on Nord Stream 2 shocked many due to its meticulous planning and impact on gas supply from Moscow.

The silence surrounding the investigation has fueled theories, but recent details reveal the suspects’ movements and involvement in the operation. German authorities continue to probe the incident and have issued an arrest warrant for one of the suspects.

The case remains open as authorities investigate possible government involvement in the sabotage. Ukrainian president Zelenskiy denied state participation, emphasizing ongoing international scrutiny.
