Arshad Nadeem Honored with Road Naming and Commemorative Stamp
In a heartwarming gesture, the federal government has announced the naming of a busy road in Islamabad after world record holder javelin throw athlete Arshad Nadeem. The road in sector F-10 will be named in recognition of Nadeem’s outstanding achievement in winning gold at the Paris Olympics with a record-setting throw of 92.97 meters. In addition to this honor, Pakistan Post will issue a commemorative stamp on Independence Day to pay tribute to Nadeem’s historic victory.
The decision to name the road and issue the stamp comes after a unanimous resolution passed by the National Assembly, recommending the highest civil award for Nadeem. President Asif Ali Zardari has also decided to confer a civil award on the champion athlete, who has already received cash rewards from provincial and federal governments.
Let’s join hands in celebrating Arshad Nadeem’s remarkable achievement and continue to support our athletes on their journey to success.
