In a phone call with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Pezeshkian discussed enhancing bilateral relations and promoting peace.
He reiterated Iran’s stance that war benefits no country and asserted the right of states to respond to aggression to halt crime. Pezeshkian highlighted the importance of Iran-UK relations and the necessity of resuming nuclear negotiations. Starmer emphasized the urgency of ending the Gaza Strip ceasefire, providing humanitarian aid, and acknowledged Iran’s potential role in facilitating this.
Both leaders expressed readiness to strengthen ties, with Starmer expressing hope for swift deployment of new ambassadors. The discussion underlines the significance of cooperation in addressing regional challenges and fostering stability.
