Ukraine introduces drone development graduate program.
Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Ministry is collaborating with the Kyiv School of Economics to introduce a new master’s program focusing on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), as announced by Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. This initiative comes as Ukraine and Russia have made significant investments in drone technology during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The program aims to train engineers in drone development to design, test, and enhance UAVs. Fedorov highlighted the importance of nurturing professionals in this field, emphasizing the promising prospects of civilian and military drones.

Individuals with bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as specialists from various backgrounds, are encouraged to apply for the program. The Kyiv School of Economics is offering scholarships to military personnel interested in this area of study.

Supported by companies involved in the government’s Brave1 initiative, the program aims to capitalize on the expertise within the drone sector, which features over 500 Ukrainian companies. With a capacity to produce more than 3 million drones annually, Ukraine is poised to strengthen its Unmanned Systems Forces, a branch established by President Volodymyr Zelensky to enhance drone operations.
