Ukraine destroys 30 drones, Sumy infrastructure targeted

In a recent military confrontation, Ukrainian air defense successfully thwarted 30 out of 38 attack drones launched by Russia on the night of August 13. The drones were launched from various locations in Russia, including the Sea of Azov coast and Voronezh Oblast. Ukrainian Air Force units intercepted the drones over several oblasts, including Mykolaiv and Chernihiv.

Furthermore, Russian forces targeted an infrastructure facility in Sumy Oblast, resulting in a missile and air strike. This region has been facing continuous cross-border strikes since the expulsion of Russian troops in April 2022. The situation escalated after Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk Oblast, intensifying the attacks.

The recent incursion into Kursk and strikes in Crimea have provided some relief to Ukrainian forces in Donbas, offering hope in the face of manpower and ammunition shortages. The surprising counterattack into Russian territory has shifted the dynamics on the eastern front.

Despite the challenges, Ukrainian forces remain resilient in defending their territories and pushing back against Russian aggression.
