A former Jewish employee of Intel has filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that he was terminated after raising concerns about a senior executive’s support for antisemitism, Hamas, and terrorism against Israel. The employee, using the pseudonym John Doe, claimed he was fired in a cost-cutting move shortly after being assigned to report to the executive in question.
The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, accuses Intel of retaliating against the plaintiff for speaking out against hate speech and discrimination. The plaintiff, a former soldier in the Israel Defense Forces, cited instances where the executive openly expressed anti-Israel sentiments on social media.
The lawsuit seeks to hold Intel accountable for violating federal civil rights laws and New York state and city human rights laws. The plaintiff’s lawyer emphasized the importance of addressing discriminatory behavior in the workplace and ensuring a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Doe’s origins at Intel
The plaintiff joined Intel after the company acquired the Israeli startup he worked for. The lawsuit also pointed out Intel’s business connections to Israel and the Jewish heritage of its first chief executive, Andrew Grove.
