Antonio Tajani, the Italian Minister, emphasized the importance of constant communication between Rome and Tehran regarding regional issues in a recent phone call with Iran’s caretaker Foreign Minister. He also highlighted the necessity of implementing a new initiative, agreed upon by Qatar, Egypt, and the US, for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to alleviate tensions in the region.
Iran’s Caretaker Foreign Minister, Ali Baqeri, denounced the Israeli regime’s attempts to hinder efforts to stop their crimes and genocide in Gaza. He mentioned recent incidents, such as the attack on Iran’s embassy in Damascus and the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, as examples of Israel’s efforts to escalate violence in the region.
Baqeri reiterated Iran’s right to take reciprocal measures against Israel while continuing to work towards ending the aggression in Gaza. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has also vowed a “harsh response” to Haniyeh’s assassination, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to seeking justice for the Palestinian leader.
